Chapter 1071 - December 17, 2016 Membership Meeting
Thank you for the members who made it to the meeting driving through the single digit temperatures and snowy roads. In addition to taking care of business several members enjoyed reminding our Chaplain, John Altfeltis of the Army Navy Game. Army 21 Navy 17!! Our attendance for this meeting was a total of 32 members and guests. Thank you to all who attended.

Chapter 1071 - November 19, 2016 Membership Meeting
We thank the American Legion Post 161 for letting us use their room because the Elks Lodge was not available this month. The clothing drive was a great success and our Member Richard Winfrey, the VSO for Gilpin County, will take everything we collected back to the mountain towns and areas. He knows many vets that live up there, with some of these vets living in abandoned cabins and they need our help. Our attendance for this meeting was a total of 47 members and guests. Thank you for all who attended.

Chapter 1071 - October 15, 2016 Membership Meeting
This month’s meeting our guest speaker was Janet Beiner and Linda Fishel from the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). Janet spoke of their future event of the Commemoration of the 50th Anniversary of the Vietnam War that will include our Chapter Members. Also Member Bob Wyatt talked about his trip to the Wall in Washington DC and his placing items at the Wall from the Mead High School students. Our attendance for this meeting was a total of 47 members and guests. Thank you for all who attended.

Chapter 1071 - September 17, 2016 Membership Meeting
This month’s meeting our guest speaker was Lisa Menard State Captain for the Colorado Patriot Guard Riders. She was then presented with a Certificate of Appreciation and an engraved shell casing from the first Honors Burial ceremony at Ft Logan. Thanks to Eliza Femie from the Visiting Nurses Association for talking to our Chapter. Our attendance for this meeting with a total of 48 members and guests. Thank you for all who attended.

Chapter 1071 - August 20, 2016 Membership Meeting
This month’s meeting our guest speaker was Brian Erickson from The Campaign for a Healthy Colorado. He talked about the tobacco tax increase for healthy veterans. Lew Roman talked about the Broomfield Veterans Memorial Museum. Our attendance for this meeting with a total of 55 members and guests. Thank you for all who attended.

Chapter 1071 - July 16, 2016 Membership Meeting
This month’s meeting our guest speaker was Jeremy Garver from Wish of a Lifetime. Al Roettger displayed items that the students of Mead High School created and will be taken to the Wall in Washington D.C. We had our largest attendance for this meeting with a total of 63 members and guests. Thank you for all who attended.

Chapter 1071 - June 18, 2016 Membership Meeting
During this months meeting Bill Hilliard discussed the final plans for our Chapters first Honors Burial on June 25th. Judy Atencio will be leaving our Chapter and we presented her with a Certificate of Appreciation along with a challange coin and gift card for all the work she has done for us for many years. We had a great turnout and our attendance consisted of 49 members and guests, thank you to all who attended.

Chapter 1071 - May 21, 2016 Membership Meeting
During this months meeting President Stan Paprocki unveiled a team signed football jersey from Green Mountain High School that was given to our chapter. This gift was in appreciation for our chapters members presentations to their history classes. We had a great turnout and our attendance consisted of 43 members and guests, thank you to all who attended.

Chapter 1071 - April 16, 2016 Membership Meeting
During this months meeting we installed new Officers who are: Stan Paprocki - President, Lance - Rommerdahl Vice President, Leonard Smith - Treasurer (who could not attend). We presented a gavel plaque to our outgoing President Richard Cox, and medals to David Steiner - Vice President, John Pascente - Treasurer, and Dan Dietz - Sgt at Arms. Thank you Karen Hand for the cake that everyone enjoyed. We had a great turnout and our attendance consisted of 50 members and guests, thank you to all who attended.

Chapter 1071 - March 19, 2016 Membership Meeting
Guest speaker for March was Kirk Bol, Interim Registrar of the Colorado Vital Records Bureau and he talked about his office’s duties and procedures, especially in relation to our efforts to get death certificate information for our unclaimed cremated veterans. Lakewood City Council member Pete Roybal and Lakewood Chief Probation Officer Scott Hefty present the Vietnam War 50th Anniversary Commemoration flag to our Chapter. Our Chapter members thank you very much. Our attendance consisted of 55 members and guests, thank you to all who attended.

Chapter 1071 - Feb 20, 2016 Membership Meeting
Our February meeting had it's largest attendance to this point. Guest speaker Michelle Adams spoke about the Project 22 Documentary that relates PTSD and the 22 veterans who take their own lives each day. Our Chapter members thank you very much. Our attendance consisted of 61 members and guests, thank you to all who attended.

Chapter 1071 - Jan 16, 2016 Membership Meeting
Member Jim Topkoff was voted on to the BOD and will take over Marketing from Dan Dietz. He also brought samples of urns made by the Colorado Woodworkers Guild for our Honors Burial project. Bill Hilliard was presented with a Certificate of Appreciation for all the work he has done for our Chapter. Our Chapter members thank you very much. Our attendance consisted of 44 members and guests, thank you to all who attended.
