Veterans Day Green Mountain High School 11/11/15
Hello, I hope all is well! I just wanted to send you an invitation to our Veteran’s Day celebration that will be taking place this Wednesday. There is no doubt that the highlight of last year for me was hearing your stories and seeing our students deeply engaged in a very authentic way. I hope we can continue to work together to bridge what we are teaching within our classrooms to valuable learning opportunities within our community. I hope you and others are able to attend our celebration that honors heroes like yourself. Please let me know if I can provide any more details and I look forward to working together again in the Spring.
With gratitude,

Mr. Dietz and the all the men who volunteered,
Words cannot express how grateful our students and teachers are that we got to know your stories and sacrifices that were made during your service. Each story was deeply personal and special that allowed everyone to understand this very important time period. Our students learned so much about Vietnam, but also about the great qualities of character that each of you continue to show through your service of helping the new generation of students appreciate how powerful history can be. Our students were deeply touched by your stories. Laughter and tears were evidence that every student was deeply engaged. You are all a very special group and I cannot wait until we meet again and find ways to support one another. Please know that we will be in contact about volunteer opportunities, our Veteran’s Day assembly, and more discussions with our students. I know I can speak for everyone when I say this was a definite highlight to our school year!!
With deep gratitude,
The Green Mountain Staff and Students
